Born in Jeddah into an Indian diplomatic family attached to the British Legation, Hasan grew up as a desert boy. After the partition of the Indian subcontinent, his father chose to become Pakistan and moved the family there. Education was a struggle at first because Hasan spoke Arabic. He worked hard with the result that he not only earned his Master’s Degree in Geography but the entire process by starting in Grade 1 as an eleven to standing with his Master’s cap in hand took a mere twelve years.
Hasan has had a varied and important life in the business world. He’s survived cyclones and the Bangladesh revolution. He retired and now lives with his family in Vancouver, Canada in 1912.
